Friends of NRA and The NRA Foundation recognize that the future of our shooting traditions lies in programs that inspire and encourage individuals to further develop their passion for firearm education and training. Recognizing America’s younger generations represent the future of the shooting sports, State Fund Committees frequently allocate more than 80% of grant monies to youth programs.

Friends of NRA provides funding for Eddie Eagle GunSafe®, which teaches children the important steps to take if they find a gun, while Refuse to Be A Victim® teaches people of all ages the importance of be-ing alert to imminent danger, equipping participants with life-saving knowledge. The annual Youth Education Summit trains high schoolers to continue the shooting legacy by intelligently debating their Con-stitutional rights, while programs designed specifically for military and law enforce-ment enhance the marksmanship skills. Women on Target® helps women gain confidence in their firearm skills. Disabled veterans are given opportunities to contin-ue shooting through programs like the Par-alyzed Veterans of America’s National Trap-shoot Circuit, and young hunters through-out the nation are inspired by the Youth Hunter Education Challenge. Hundreds of indoor and outdoor ranges have been built or repaired by NRA range grants, and then frequented by students learning marks-manship in JROTC, Boy Scouts, and 4-H.
